We are off and away at 6:45 am from our daughter’s house in Livermore, CA on our first great adventure with the SOWERS (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready) RV missionary organization.  Our destination is Kidder Creek Camp (a subsidiary of Mt. Herman) in Etna, California, near Yreka.  We have email from the Kidder Creek Camp host that our project is to build a 32 ft foot bridge over the water.  It was snowing in Jupiter and Twain Harte when we left our home on Wednesday night.  The camp host said it’s snowing at Kidder Creek too.  What was I thinking when I packed shorts and short sleeved tops.  Garmin says we are 6 hours from Kidder Creek.  Our dogs Kelly and Toby knew we were leaving them.  They did their best good dog sits hoping they would get to go, but knowing they were being left behind.  Our dog King gets to go.  Well, Garmin let us down.  At 5pm, it had us turn onto a dirt and gravel private drive for about 1/3rd of a mile ending at a private home with no place to turn around in our trailer.  Got the owner to move vehicles and eventually got out and arrived at Kidder Creek about 5pm.  We met with the SOWERS group leader at 7:30pm for our group orientation.  There are 3 couples.  We will be attending Etna EV Free Church on Sunday.  Group devotions start at 7:30am on Monday morning.  Work starts at 8am.  We work 6 hour day.
